Notes & Comments on our workshops

"Teaching people, skills without giving them a vision for a better future -- a vision based on common values -- is only training." -– Nido Qubein - American Management Philosopher - Courtesy Lawrence Ragan Communications, USA

"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." -- William Arthur Ward - Courtesy Lawrence Ragan Communications, USA

" No involvement, No Commitment" - Dr.Stephen Covey in his landmark book "7 Habits of highly effective people"

Corollary added by Madhavan T Gopalachary to the above statement:

" No Commitment, No Progress"

"No Progress, No Growth"

"No Growth, No Enterprise"

Our workshops are not to be compared with normal training given by many. We go beyond training and focus on instilling principles, values and ethics. We combine Training, Coaching, Counseling and Mentoring techniques in our workshops. This has to be backed by knowledge, skills, attitudes, maturity and finally experience. This should not be taken as being conceited, arrogant or blowing our own trumpet. People who have availed our services know this. None of our workshops have been rated below Excellent/Very Good by any participants. We are not satisfied with 'Very Good' ratings and always try for 'Excellent' ratings.

We take great pains in developing our training modules after considerable research on the subject and in our considered opinion, all are well designed, keeping the target audience in mind. Some subjects are conceptual and perceptions of the target audience can be very different. Another problem is that we always find the target audience behaving differently from the brief given to us by the HR/Training Departments and focus has to be changed mid-way. This calls for creativity, improvisation, knowledge, skills, experience and finally ability to remember and recall the subject concerned, without adequate preparation, making the job very daunting and difficult. People should not mix up training and management consultancy and we carry out both. Our training workshops are focused on the subject and covers a wide target audience, whereas in ODI/management consultancy the focus is on the issue.

Our Development Workshops are no picnics. They are very intense, focused on the topics, try to give maximum information on the topic and related topics, within the time available. This calls for total involvement, commitment, concentration and hard work from the participants. The participants must have very high energy levels, ability to think and  concentrate for long hours, an open mind and a burning desire to learn and benefit from such workshops.

Improvements are always possible, but sponsors and participants should also look into time and costs involved in improvement. Just as it is not possible to provide a Mercedes-Benz luxury car at the price of a Suzuki or a Hyundai, it is not possible to provide more value in services without adequate compensation, but we will take you to the destination effectively. We want our workshops to add to the KSAs of participants every minute, so that they can contribute more on their jobs. We owe this to the sponsors for the time and money spared by them. While individuals are important, organizations are more important.

No Tamashas (Indian word for road side circus), No Gimmicks, No Silly Games like running around in circles waving hands like birds, and finally No Jargon. Intense personal interaction, in plain and simple English. Full involvement, service and commitment to people and the organizations they represent. Answering queries on the subject and resolving personal doubts of participants. Our workshops are for serious minded. Even the simple games we conduct, occasionally, have lessons to be learnt in Team Building. For us Corporate Training is a serious business. Our approach and philosophy to ODIs and Training with recalcitrant people or with bad attitudes, irrespective of the level of management, is given in the image below.
